The 7 Day Diet Plan
The 7 Day Diet Plan permits people to take foods of their choice on specific days. This diet claims that its program detoxifies the body and leads to weight loss. The diet recommends consumption of a variety of fruits on one day and different kinds of vegetables on another day. By following the 7 Day Diet Plan, the dieters can lose up to 14 pounds. On the first day of this diet, Monday, the dieter can eat all the fruits and vegetables of his choice, except bananas. On the second day, Tuesday, it is strictly vegetables, but the dieter can eat as many and as much as he desires. On the third day, Wednesday, it is again fruits and vegetables.
On the fourth day, Thursday, the dieter can have 5 bananas and 5 glasses of milk. It is evident that the recommendations of this diet are in the extreme with regard to the food items allowed. This diet plan was reportedly developed for the staff of General Motors to keep them more healthy and active. It has been recorded from personal experiences that some dieters have lost up to 7 pounds of weight in 7 days. The 7 Day Diet Plan appeared to be more effective on non-vegetarians as this is a mostly vegetarian diet for 7 days. However, people aged over 50 should follow the 7 Day Diet Plan only under the supervision of a doctor.
The soups under this plan are considered to be the best and the dieter can enjoy them even after the diet period is completed. It is also believed that the 7 Day Diet Plan can reduce weight between 10 and 14 pounds in a week, if it is followed in the recommended manner. This program is likely to reduce weight as the dieter eats vegetables and fruits most of the time. But, the diet is not very balanced and may lead to fatigue and weakness.
After fruits and vegetables on the first three days and bananas on the fourth day, the diet recommends 3-4 oz steaks of beef or chicken with fresh vegetables on Friday, the fifth day. It is again 3-4 oz steaks with vegetables on Saturday, the sixth day. On Sunday, the diet consists of 3-4 oz beef steaks with vegetables. The 7 Day Diet Plan believes that fruit and fruit juices help the body in getting rid of most of the toxins that are formed in the body. There is provision for red tomatoes and sprouts on day five. The 7 Day Diet Plan also recommends consumption of plenty of water all through the day. Tea or coffee may be taken without sugar. It has resemblance to Scarsdale Diet. This diet is seen only as a short term solution and not suitable for long term.
